Tonight I finally told my son that his father and I were never married.

Just stumbled over your blog and wanted to send hugs your way... please don't feel alone. I hope your son knows how cherished he is, regardless of the presence or absence of a piece of paper. Families the world over are made up of so many permutations of members - each special in their own way.
